Pandav Sera ( Moderate & Strenuous)

FACTS:

HIGHEST ALTITUDE: 5300 MTR(GHIYA VINAYAK PASS TRAIL)

DURATION: 10N/11D

TREK DISTANCE: 100KM 

MEALS: FULL BOARD

Team kit (tent, stove, utensils, dry ration, medical, safety equipment etc.) was prepared and all set we started for our journey.

DAYS  SCHEDULE:

Day1:

Arrive Rishikesh and stay at camps. Evening will be followed by an Important Briefing of Trek.

Day2:

Drive from Rishikesh upto village Ransi (197km). Ransi is a beautiful village surrounded by many Shivalik ranges leading to the upper Himalayas. One can see the living style of Gharwal peoples and inhale breathtaking air in this village. Trek down to Gaundar Village(7km) Night stays in local hotel /camp and experience local food.

Day3:

After having breakfast trek upto Madhyamaheswar Temple(3281mtr)(11km) Middle part of Lord Shiva made by Five Pandavas. During the trek, one will pass through Bantoli(Meeting point of two rivers Markanda coming from Chaukhamba Peaks and Madhu Ganga coming from Nandi Kund).  One will see mesmerizing views of the Chaukhamba group of peaks and Mandani Parbat from here Night stay in camps and hot dinner.

Day4:

Outdoor adventure

After having breakfast trek upto a lake called Kachni Tal/Dhar(4218mtr)(6km). Trek today will be strenuous upto Kachni Dhar(Ridge). Locals usually go here to take Brahma Kamal(Sacred Flower) for worshiping Lord Shiva. Here the Breath will be quite heavy to inhale. One can see the stunning Madhymaheswar valley from here. One may also find some peculiar rodents running around the lake are rat size have ears like a hare. They are called Pikas – small mammals, with short limbs and rounded ears. Night stay will be in camps with hot dinner.

Day5:

After having breakfast trek upto Pandava(3937mtr)(11km). The trail today will be relatively easy. You will see the trail alternates between gradual uphill and steep downhill. You can see the Pandava plateau from Kachani Dhar campsite. The green meadow (left) seen just behind the greenish-brown slope is Pandavsera. If one will proceed more ahead, can see Pandavgufa. As it is believed that Pandavas stayed here for a long time and dug a canal and transformed it into cultivable land. Night stay will be in camps here with hot dinner.

Day6:

rishikesh tripAfter having breakfast trek upto a spiritual lake called Nandi Kund(4499mtr)(14km). This is going to be a long day with a strenuous climb all the way to Nandikund and One can see river Madhu Ganga flowing through Nandikund lake.  You will see it is surrounded on all sides by high peaks, except where Chaukhamba towers at a distance. In the months of September – October when the snow melts you see the mesmerizing reflection of the many peaks of Chaukh­amba in the lake. On the banks of Nandikund, you can see a small rock-made temple of Devi Nanda. You can also see some old swords near the temple. People believe that those were some of the arms that great Pandavas had left there before final journey. Night stay will be on camp sight with hot dinner.

Day7:

After having breakfast trek through Ghiya Vinayak Pass(5300mtr) accompanied by a steep descent to Barma(3937mtr). In between, one will be able to see a beautiful river flows called Rudra Ganga also known a Vaitrani with a spiritual Devi temple. Today trek will be very moderate(12km). Night stay will be in camp sight with hot dinner.

Day8:

After having breakfast trek upto Manpai Bugyal(3749mtr)(11km). There is a stone temple on the top called Panch Dyula. The temple is marked with red and yellow flags and small bells hanging out from the stone structure. After some rest continue on the trail that descends down into the meadow. One can see the meadow is filled with colorful flowers. After walking in the snow for the entire previous day the green meadows are a refreshing and welcoming change. A very scenic meadow called Manpai Bugyal will itself explain the importance of the place. Night stay will be in Campsite with hot dinner.

Day9:

After having breakfast trek upto Bansi Narayan Temple(3280mtr)(12km). The trek today is relatively easy as you will be following the trail made by the Kedarnath forest division. The trek to Bansi Narayan is long and crosses several ridges and streams in between. You go through a series of uphills and downhills. Continue on the trail that gradually climbs up the ridge on a mud path that passes between the meadows. Bansi Narayan temple is a single structure temple built out of huge stones in front of large slanting boulders. Bansi means flute and Narayan is another name for the Hindu God, Vishnu. This is an ancient temple and is surrounded by boulders. Night stay will be in Campsite with hot dinner.

Day10:

After having breakfast trek upto Urgam Village(2200mtr)(13km).  This is the last day of the trek and the most relaxed of all days. The trail is mainly downhill through thick forest. Urgam is lush green valley with a fascinating picturesque apple orchard, terrace field, Rajma (kidney beans), and potatoes farms. After settling down and having rest you visit the Kalpeshwar Temple(Head part of Lord Shiva) which is 1.5 – 2 kms. Night stay will be either in Camps or in Lodges according to the wishes.

Day11:

After having hot local organic breakfast drive upto rishikesh again at our Base (253KM).
