Itinerary

Day 1

Drive Rishikesh To Sari (8 Hours) And Trek To Devriatal (45 Minutes)
Our trek begins from the town of Rishikesh. Morning, after breakfast we drive for a good 7-8  hours to reach Sari. The drive, though long is beautiful as we drive along the Ganga, Alaknanda and Mandakani rivers. Enroute we stop at Deoprayag which is another important Hindu site, known for the confluence of two distinct colored Bhagirathi and Alaknanda Rivers, which then flows down as the Ganga. Once in  Sari, we trek for a short while to the beautiful Himalayan Lake, Deorital. This trek does not take long but is steep, often giving a good view of the surrounding villages.At Deorital, You can take the day off to explore the area around and then retire to your cozy tents after a good, wholesome dinner.

Day 2

Trek From Devriatal To Chopta (3000m) 5-6 Hr):
The mornings in the Himalayas are one to look forward to. Wake up early to catch the first rays of the sun on the snow covered Himalayas.The orangish hue of the mountains is one to keep as memory in your cameras! Once we have fed you with an energy giving breakfast, we set forth to Chopta. This is a gradual trek and takes 5-6 hours to complete, which however pass relatively quickly as you pass through the dense, cool forests and beautiful alpine meadows dotted with wild flowers. Arrive at Chopta and camp at outskirts. Meals and Overnight stay in Tents.

Day 3

Trek Chopta To Chandershila (4000m) And Return To Chopta -6- 7hrs):
Our target today is to reach the summit of Chandrashilla in time so that we can catch the panoramic view of the high Himalayan peaks in good light.The trek is mostly agradual ascent through the maroonish-reddish dwarf rhododendron bushes. At the summit, take in a good look at the prominent peaks surrounding you from all directions. Almost every prominent peak of the Garhwal Himalayas can be spotted from here. To one side is Nanda Devi (7817Mtrs-the highest peak of Indian Himalayas), the other side is Kedarnath, Trishul, Banderpoonch etc. Each peak is a spectacular view and finds its mention in the myths and folk tales of the plains below.Explore the area and then trace your steps back to the camp at Chopta. This downward journey is far easier and we finish it in good time to camp again at Chopta.

Day 4

Drive From Chopta To Baghwan (6 Hours) And Raft Down To Amarasu(3-4 Hrs):
Now that we have trekked our fill and have reached a suitable height, it is time for rafting down the great Himalayan River. For this first, we drive another 120 Km to Devprayag.Once here, we get you to the starting point at Baghwan, After a comprehensive safety briefing and packing the bags on the raft, we head out on the water. We start the trip on the Alaknanda River as it enters the last canyon stretch with good whitewater, featuring rapids such as Baghwan’s Pillow, The Deadly Duos and more, until we reach Devprayag. It is a mild section from here until the campsite with a few rapids where you can body surf, swim, relax and spot wildlife.

About the Activity:

Embark on this amazing and adventurous trip to Markha Valley in Leh and Ladakh region. Arrive in Leh on your first day and explore the town and its beautiful tourist locations and get acclimatized. On the second day, get a transfer to the road head from Leh, from where your trek will start and then reach Yurutse via Zinchen which will take around 3 hours of trekking. The third day will be the longest trekking day of the tour, starting from Yurutse to Skiu via Ganda, which will be of 25 km and take 7-8 hours to complete.
The next day you will continue your trek from Skiu to Markha, which will be around 20 km taking around 6 hours.
The fifth day will take you from Markha to Thochuntse amidst the majestic Himalayas covered with snow, which will take around 6 hours and is a distance of 13 km. The sixth day is a short trek of 6 to 7 km but as it is ascent, it will take around 3 to 4 hours from Thochuntse to Nimaling. On your seventh day, you will trek from Nimaling to Shang Sumdo, a trek of around 18 km and aftermath proceed to Leh via the Gongmaru La pass. Eight days will be your last day of the tour and you will depart from Leh.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Leh
Arrive in Leh and check in to the guesthouse.
Explore the town of Leh and visit some of its tourist places like Shanti stupa etc. and get acclimatized.
Overnight stay in a guesthouse in Leh.

Day 2

Leh to Zinchen to Yurutse
On this day, start your trip from Leh to reach Zinchen from where your trek will begin.
Start trekking from Zinchen to Yurutse which will be a short trek of 5 km and will take around 3 hours.
Overnight stay in home-stay in Yurutse.

Day 3

Yurutse to Skiu
After breakfast, start your trek from Yurutse to Skiu.
On the way pass the Ganda La.
The trek will be around 25 km and take around 7 to 8 hours.
After reaching Skiu, overnight stay in a home-stay.

Day 4

Skiu to Markha
Today, you will trek to Markha, located at a height of 12,369 feet from the mean sea level.
Enjoy a hot breakfast and start your trek amidst the beautiful scenery.
The distance from Skiu to Markha is around 20 km and the total trek time today will be 6 to 7 hours.
Overnight stay in homestays at Markha.

Day 5

Markha to Thochuntse
Today after the breakfast continue your trek from Markha to Thochuntse.
The distance of the trek is around 13 km only but because of a little ascent, the trek will take around 5 to 6 hours.
Overnight in homestay at Thochuntse.

Day 6

Thochuntse to Nimaling
Today’s trek will be the shortest of all the routes.
Starting from Thochuntse to Nimaling, which is located at an elevation of 15,518 feet and 6 to 7 km.
The trekking time will be around 3 to 4 hours because of the steep ascent.
Overnight stay in home-stay at Nimaling.

Day 7

Nimaling to Shang Sumdo to Leh
This is the last day of your trek.
After breakfast, start your trek from Nimaling to Shang Sumdo which is around 18 km and will take 7 to 8 hours.
After reaching Shang Sumdo, continue your return journey to Leh via the Gongmaru La Pass.
Overnight stay in camps at Leh

Day 8

Depart from Leh
On this day after breakfast end your tour.

Day 5

Raft Down To Kodiyala (4-5 Hrs):
Again an easy day for rafting where we negotiate a few small rapids on our 30 km way to our beach camp at Kodiala.

Day 5

Raft Down To Rishikesh (4-5 Hrs):
Kodiala is a very popular area for rafting and you get to cross some fine grade III rapids such as “Daniel Dip”, “The Wall”, “Three Blind Mice”, “Crossfire”, and the “Body Surfing rapid”. Covering 35 Km to reach Rishikesh where after lunch we make our way across a few more exciting rapids such as “Roller Coaster” and “Golf  Course” to make it an appropriate and exciting end to a grand adventure. The ends at the arrival at Rishikesh.
